Hey all,

Can anyone identify what kind of upper this is?  The guy at the shop told me it was an S&W upper, personally, I think he's full of shit.  I bought it anyway to try to complete my first build and now I'm having 2nd thoughts about it because it doesn't have a few things like a forward assist, and an ejection port cover, and I'm not as keen on the raised rail as I was when I first saw it.

Anyway, as usual, any and all help identifying this upper is appreciated.

TIA.

Pedo

I don't know what it is, but it sure is NOT a Smith & Wesson. What markings are on the barrel? Any other identifying markings?

Just because I'm me.  I'd ask that lying bastard to show me that in a S&W brochure.
Find another shop and spread the word.  Post the same on your HTF

I'm going back up this week to return it.  Funny thing is, this particular shop doesn't have the greatest reputation on my HTF, but I myself have had no incidents until this.  The owner of the shop and me get along quite well and I've had many pleasant exchanges with him.  I haven't dealt with that particular salesman before, and, if the owner does (for whatever reason) act like a douche to me like he has to other people in the past, it's the last I'll be dealing with them.

Wow!  You've got it down.  Are you the shop owner?

That explains a lot, why deal with them.  Owners of shoddy used car lots operate in the same manner.

Yeah, got the money back.  Gonna put it towards a new upper.  Not sure which one yet, though...

That upper looks like the ones I saw the packie gunsmiths/goat herders making by hand over in the HinduCush Province along with those Lee Enfield retreads, but riddle me this: were is wire wrap?
