Hey all,

I'm looking into the forums regarding butt stock threads but don't see any.  If this is a repeated topic I apologize.

Anyway, I want to know what and why people have chosen their particular butt stocks and for what type of builds/shooting they purchased them for.

I have been looking at the Magpul UBR and have mixed feelings.  It seems a bit heavy but may balance out a heavier front end that houses lights, optics, and the like.  Anyone hear or have opinions on the UBR?  What else should I be looking into?

Thanks,
Nick

I would take a gun with better ballance over a 1 lb less weight gun that is nose heavy,
but that just my thoughts and soon you will have others.
.
I'm a little tired and noticed if you replaced stock with secs in your post it would be damn funny
.
And welcome to the forums

The ubr is heavy but it's very firm and rigid and it does help balance out the front weight some.  It's worth it to me, I really like mine.

I got a UBR a month or two ago.  I switched from a CTR.  It is a rock solid adjustable stock, but like you said, a bit heavy.  I put mine on my "precision" rig that I'm running a Nightforce 2.5-10X scope and full length tube on.  The stock is heavier, but it makes the rifle much more manageable in terms of off hand shooting.  It balances the rifle nicely.
