On the second I ordered a matte stainless Battle Comp. Well it came in today. It came with instructions to install and a crush washer, which I will ditch for a peel washer. Mine arrived dry but they will come prelubed. The instructions say to oil it up good also. It was a bright matte finish but since handling it has darkened quite a bit, which I like the color. You can see the original color in the grooves of the top pic..
Is it a poor mans KAC TT? Depends, is $150 cheap? I do like it so far and I am not claiming it to be a KAC TT. We will see soon though. I am more interested to find out the friendly fire concussion first and recoil reducing affect second. To check out it's specs I broke out the McCheapo slide ruler. Length. 1.750" So it isn't long enough for a perm. job. Diameter. .850" Muzzle hole. .285" The 4 holes in front. .095" Their spacing. (center to center) .437" Distance from the bore hole center. .312 Slots .066" x .213" Grooves at the base. .704" All these are approximate. I need my mini tripod but since it is mini, I cant locate it. http://i48.tinypic.com/2he8qah.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/vijjaf.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/wu1mqp.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2it6c15.jpg I have two weapons I can try it on. A A4 rifle and a Colt 6520. I am thinking of using the latter since it is way lighter and has the old style stock. I hope I can make it out Sunday to see how it works. Thanks for all of your time. | Put some rounds through mine for the first time yesterday. Nice. Was limited to what I could do for follow-up shots due to rules of the indoor range, but it was clear that sights stayed where I wanted them. A friend shot it as well, so I was able to stand back and watch the muzzle......didn't jump at all. Went with the black one, and it looks great as well. Looking forward to getting it outside. |
| I've shot just over 1000 rds through my BattleComp. Last weekend, when I had my game face on, I was doing hammers from 50yds. With the FSC556 I could do controlled pairs, but no hammers. Sound and flash seem comparable to the A2, less than the FSC556. And I had no dust cloud shooting rollover prone with the BattleComp. With the FSC556 I had to wait for the dust cloud to dissipate, because I couldn't see the target. |
