OK here is my issue....Need a good starter AR for a gift (its legal) but can not break the bank. I had ordered a DSA upper and complete lower to make a basic AR15 rifle but was just told the upper would not be here in time. I saw that I can order a Del-Ton complete rifle w/Magpul MOE items on it. It would be here in time and its only $70 more and includes case/1 mag/cleaning kit. The MOE parts by themselves would cost $110. The DSA has Nitride finish and M4 cut type barrel. Del-ton is heavy barrel. DSA gun is $612 vs Del-Ton $680.
If you were given one which would you rather have....1-a basic DSA rifle or 2-a Del-Ton w/MOE grip/handgaurd/stock???? I can wait for the DSA stuff if its a better item then DEL-TON. Need to decide in the next 12 hours...any useful thoughts ....THANKS |
| I have a Del-ton and I'm not impressed with it. The FSB was loose, fucking LOOSE!!!!! and the finish of the upper was spotty. It eats any cheap ammo I shove in it though so I guess I can cut them a tiny amount of slack. I do have a DSA complete 20" hbar upper on order and I hope I'm not waiting until Christmas or I might go with something else. I've got a few stripped uppers from DSA and I have only good things to say about them. |
| Thanks for the help. I ended up cancelling my DSA order for both the upper and complete lower. I ordered the Del-Ton and it should be here on tues or weds. Best part is I will have it in time. Bad part is I now have a semi auto BCG and charge handle that I do not need because DSA sent it to me when I placed the order for the upper. |
