Did a search on this, found nothing.  Just bought a DPMS LR-308 w/A-3 upgrade off Gunbroker.  Great looking rifle, crappy trigger.  I am taking it out tomorrow for the 1rst time, with a 104 rounds of ammo.  I am planning on shooting this rifle at ranges of between 300-600 yrds.  No formal competitions, just a fun gun.

I am considering a match trigger of around 2lbs., or maybe a good 2-stage trigger.  Evidently this rifle has the smaller .154" trigger pins.  Anyone have a recommendation with regards to a good trigger for this rifle?

Thanks

My new rifle

I just put a Geissele DMR trigger in my DPMS LR308. Its a little pricey (right around $250), but damn, its a nice trigger! They also make a SSA trigger, that is around $170 that is supposed to be very nice. The difference, I belive, is that the SSA is not adjustable.

For a cheaper alternative, some people suggest Bill Springfield. For somewhere around $50 or so, he can tune your standard trigger.

And welcome to the site.

I have the same gun. I chose the RRA 2 Stage.  I have one on a RRA Carbine and love it. $105 USD

Have you ever shot any mil surplus ammo with your RRA 2 stage?  I've read that many of the 2 stage triggers have problems igniting the primers.

I put a RRA 2 stage in a friends the other day and it is amazing what an improvment it made.  This is a strong coment as I am a Geissele and jewel trigger man myself.  It was impressive.

You will be ok as the RRA NM Trigger utilizes standard trigger springs...I've never had a problem with Lake City M193 in my AR's.

I've got a Timney 3# in my LR, they make a 4# and a .308 specific 4.5# (i believe)  but i've never had a single problem with the 3#, even with old German DAG surplus.  Goes BANG every time and is very consistent.

I've only ever shot it up to ~500 and i'll get sub-moa groups on calmer days at that range fairly regularly.
