Do you know alot about AR's???  I"m building my first and I'm clueless....

What upper is better for a Noob that will just target and plink with his AR?
Mid-length gas system or Carbine?

I'm torn b/w one of these three uppers:

Hey maui, I'd vote for the spikes mid-length gas system. You'll have less recoil. You could always add a rail later on.

Spikes or BCM will be most of your answers on here.
