I had a great day at the range today. I've been looking forward to shooting my MK12 Mod 0 clone for awhile now. Finally had some time and decent weather.

The Rifle:

Upper: ADCO/WOA w/ SWFA 3X9FFP SS

Lower: LMT w/ Giesselle DMR Trigger

This rifle is a pure joy to shoot. The OPS Inc. brake keeps it on target very well (not that .223s have that much muzzle rise to begin with)

The DMR trigger is amazing. Light take up on the first stage, and a light crisp break on the 2nd stage.

I shot some 77gr Black Hills (red box) Below is a 5 shot group at 100 yards. I'm usually terrible at shooting groups. After a few shots at 100 yards I decide to have some fun and ring some steel at 300 yards.

I'm VERY happy with the rifle and can't wait to work up a good load with 77gr SMK's.

The SWFA SS 3-9 FFP is an incredible scope as well. Its bright and clear, tracks well. Mil adjustments and mil-dot reticle make adjustments a breeze.

Nice looking rifle.  What is the make of the top rail, and how is it affixed (continuous, piggyback on the upper?) and supported so that it doesn't affect the two pice mount/scope arrangement?  It just seems like external forces on the forend might exert influence on the rail?...at least from the pic.   I'd also like to hear more about your barrel, etc. Again, nice looking setup.

The rail is an ARMS PEQ rail designed to work with the PRI free float tube. Its fastened to the upper receiver and the free float tube. The PRI carbon fiber rail is very stiff. Its an older design. There are more efficient ways to get optics mounted in a good position on an AR now.  However, I just liked the look of the MK12 Mod 0 and had to have one.

This thread was my inspiration. More info than you'll ever need on SPR clones.

Thanks.  That's what I was wondering and couldn't see for sure in your pic...that it was a mono rail, and not broken.  SInce I haven't played with or been in service since that iteration came out, I was not entirely sure how the optics rail was set up, perzactly.  The thread you linked gives some additional views that help.  Generally, I will see several at the range around here (ARs) that have one ring on the receiver, and the other on some sort of railed forend, and I kinda cringe for the high $ scope on top, thinking that cannot be good...but I've no first hand with one tearing a scope up...just seems that w/o some tie in directly to the upper top rail, mono upper, etc. that mounting on two seperate pieces of metal on anything with recoil is gonna be heck on a scope...once stuff starts flexing and moving it's own way and all.  I only got to spend  my last few years in service experiencing rails, optics, etc. on M4s and M16s, so I'm not familiar with all the  latest/greatest approaches some seem to be cooking up.  I just generally figure on an SPR-type/extended mount, swan sleeve, or going broke over a mon upper as the only options I have if I need a bigger optic and eye relief.

I'm boning up on some of PRI's stuff I hadn't seen, and the full length rails from them as well as arms.
