Howdy all, looking for some info and hope you all can help. Has anyone had any experience with the Tactical Machining M4? I tried a search and could not find a whole lot. I am looking to buy an M4 and the local gun shop quoted me $800 for a Tactical Machining M4 with a Daniel Defense 1-7 Chrome lined barrel, $170 for surefire M73 rail system and $409 for an Eotech 512 holographic sight.
Can anyone tell me what they think of the rifle? Thanks! Jim |

I would seriously take a look at the Spikes Tactical LE-M4 upper if I were you…
I just got one and it is top notch…. I wrote a little review of my first impressions and I am going to do a range report next… They are on sale right now with the coupon code: M4LEUP Regular price is $525 and that’s complete with BCG + Charging handle and they even include a ST-T2 Buffer… The coupon code takes an additional $50 off, so you get all that for $475… best deal I’ve seen in a long time! Link to the upper Click here for my review |

Actually, that is $800 for the whole rifle, but will check out what you said. Thanks for the info! Ok, well figure: $475 for the complete upper… $100 for the lower… $60 or so for the lower parts kit… $50 or so for the buffer tube... And if you do a Magpul CTR stock add another $95 So, that puts you at about $780 complete for a completely mil-spec top quality rifle that is just as good as anything out there… The barrel is made from 4150 Chromoly Vanadium Alloy with a M4 barrel extension, Chrome chamber and bore, 5.56mm Nato chamber, 1:7 Twist its been Magnetic particle tested and comes with a mil-spec Phosphate finish (even under the pinned front sight base)… The bolt and carrier is completely mil-spec… chrome lined M16 carrier machined from 8620 Tool Steel with a properly staked forged, chrome lined gas key… the bolt is Machined from Mil-Spec Carpenter 158 Steel, shot peened, Magnetic particle tested… Everything is up to or exceeding specs… Just my $.02… it’s a hell of a rifle for the money… |

Yeah, that does sound good! What is involved in putting it together though? Is there any type of filing parts to make them fit or should they all pretty much go together. I have stripped M16's/M4's before in the military but never built one from scratch. I assume if they are Milspec, then they should fit together without any major work.
I am a newbie & I appreciate your $.02 worth, please keep adding $.02 more! LOL Really, thanks for responding! Jim |

Jim Call Spikes and ask Tom about a complete LE-M4 rifle… They will put it together for you if you don’t know how or don’t want to… A lot of us here are into building, but if you just want a complete rifle “no assembly required” they can defiantly do that… Best thing to do is to call and let them help you with your purchase… they are great folks!!!! On the other hand, if you are interested in building it yourself… Like berry79 said… the stripped lower is the only thing that has to go through an FFL… Everything else can be shipped to your door… no middle man. And yes, everything should just fit together… there shouldn’t be any filing or hand fitting unless you are doing something “really” custom. I put together a “how to” thread that may be of some assistance… Click here for the link |
