| I just recently received my DD Omega 9.0 rails and was wondering if I need/should cut the end cap of the hand gaurd. Does anyone or everyone leave or cut it off? I'm new and this would be my first DD rail, any input would be wecome. Thanks in advance. |

Leave it alone. How do you like the installed rail? I think they're great! This is my first Ar but have read great things about theses rails. Decided to just get quality instead of watching how much I spend. Theses are friggin great so far. I was also wondering, since theses are free floating rails could I mount my Aimpoint farther out on theses rails or is it advised to mount them on the receiver. |
I too just built my first AR and put a DD Omega 7.0 on. I LOVE IT. After taking the endcap on and off about 10 times(without scratching the barrel) I decided to leave it on. IF you take it off there will be a gap between the rail and your FSB, and it was a bit of an eyesore for me.

| I think they are plenty solid enough to mount optics on but unless it's necessary I would stay on the receiver for optics if possible. That way also if you need/want to remove the rail for cleaning/maintenance you can leave the optic alone and don't have to worry about affecting your zero. |
| Leave it on man. The Omega Rail was designed to be installed without performing any mods to your rifle. If you were to remove the hand guard cap, it will create a gap between the front of the rail and the front sight base and will expose a lot of your gas tube. |

If building an upper, is it worth it to get a one piece? I want to have a standard FSP...... Just want to know if a one piece is worth the extra $100 or so. Not trying to thread jack, didn't really want to start another handguard thread. No problem, I have a lower that needs a upper. I want to know too. |

Leave it alone. How do you like the installed rail? I think they're great! They look great, seems I was shipped my rails without the hardware to screw them down. Tryed contacting DD and they said they would send them out, that was a week and a half ago. I'll give them one more week then send them back and figure that to be there quality customer service.
