Yeah, I'm new to the AR platform, I had some questions.
My buffer is getting dented a lot from the detent, is this normal?
My A2 stock keeps wobbling because the screw keeps creeping its way out to a point, is this too, normal?

The buffer should only contact the detent when the two receiver halves are separated.  When you bring the two together, the bolt carrier should put pressure on the buffer, moving it slightly off the detent.  What you might be seeing are scratches and such from the carrier and buffer rubbing against each other during cycling.

If the buffer hit the detent every time the rifle was fired, it'd break fairly quickly.

Degrease the screw threads and add a drop of blue Loctite to your stock screw.  My Walmart has the Permatex threadlocker in the auto section.  I think it's around $5 for a tube.  Any hardware store should carry it.  Do not use red.

Nope, its bad, I only found out after doing a bit of dry-firing.
ETA: Its an SP1 upper on a Superior Arms lower, and the bushing was not being placed in the right position, so that left plenty of room for the BCG not to make full contact with the buffer. So stupid.
