I bought mine used off the EE and couldn't possibly be happier. They are amazingly solid. The foam sleeve is a huge pain to install though  One really nice thing about them that i didn't realize when buying is there are threaded holes all over the damn thing to mount sling swivels on. top, bottom, left, right, front, rear. wherever you desire.  |

With the foam pad on the buffer tube and Spikes ST-T2 buffers on the carbines I dont notice the "sproing" sound as much as I used to either. Couldnt be happier with mine. |

I used oil and it worked just fine––-also came off easily when I wanted to change things around––-a new foam tube is only a few bucks if the oil messed it up––but it didn't.
I used the Hoppes clear oil that comes in their cleaning kits that I never use. Slid back both ends and wiped off any excess––-like I said––-works just fine. |

I recently picked up an Ace M4Socom stock for a HD/SHTF build, and I got a question for you guys. I got a little bit of slop between the stock and the lower. It's not real bad, but I know it's the sort of thing that will grow to bug me as time goes on. It seems the source of the problem is that you use the little clamp to hold the built in buffer tube from tightening/loosening. But it allows the stock to wiggle up and down just a hair. I tried shimming it with just a little bit of electrical tape between the clamp and the lower, but no luck. So help please

Try getting it as tight as possible and call it done. i hear ya, it really isn't that bad on mine either. just one of those little things i'd like to tighten up if someone had came up with a little fix for it. |

Come to think of it, I'm not sure the Ace tube has enough threads to work with a castle nut. that's kinda why i was confused, plus ACE uses that proprietary clamping device. i saw a build on here where they used a very small o-ring in between the lower and the stock. i might hit up my FLAPS and see if this works. |
