Is there a favorite site that ARFCOM has to send their barrels for permanant attachment of flash hiders to brigh the length to 16" or more? I looked at ADCO, $30.00 seems reasonable. Just wanted some of your thought on who to talk to online or should I shop local? Thanks!

I have a local guy do mine, but thats only because I had seen his work prior to having mine done and trust him.  Not to mention hes also a friend...but otherwise I'd be sending it to adco.

Thanks, have either of you had this procedure done by ADCO? There are a couple of local gunsmiths that do great work so I am going to check them out to see if they offer this service as well.

I just had ADCO pin one for me.  It's good work and the turn around was a couple of days.

Adco every time. I called a local guy this last time trying to avoid any wait time at all and was quoted a two week wait and a $75 fee. Adco charged $30 I think. Great service and great work and I can't recall the last time I have heard of a two week wait from Adco to include shipping both ways.

Thanks for the great feedback guys. Its always good to here positive first hand experiences. Im still a little torn over which 14.5" barrel to go with. I will not be running math grade ammo, and I want the weapon to be light enough to move and shoot with. I was looking at the Noveske Afghan 14.5 but WOA also has a 14.5 for $100.00 bucks less. I want the best barrel I will be able to fully utilize in standard carbine course type drills and range shooting. I realy wished that BCM or DD made their hammer forged barrels in 14.5. Any thoughts?

ADCO.

And check out Sabre Def. barrels, I just put together one like three days ago with a Sabre barrel. It is fantastic and shoots very very well. 14.5" midlength sabre barrel.
It is my first midlength and am very happy, the midlength is silky smooth.

Just had a 14.5" LMT upper done by ADCO- $30., plus the cost for the muzzle device and shipping. Very nice job. Had it back in 12 days. Most of the turnaround time was because I shipped the upper there via UPS ground- that took 7 days. ADCO shipped it back by Priority Mail insured- back to me in 3 days. I doubt I could have had it back that quickly if I had it done locally, and it probably would have cost about the same. BTW, with a Phantom 5C1 permanently attached, the length is 16.25 inches when measured by the ATF procedure.

Look at their website, including the instructions. You have to submit the order online, and make sure to have your name/return address on the outside of the package- they match up the orders with the return name/address when they receive the package.
