Will a KAC M5 fit a heavy profile barrel? Also, how much weight does it add over the stock A2 handguards? Thanks.

As an alternative, you can always send your barrel out to Adco to have it turned down.

You only need to remove a part that is pinned inside at the front of the top handguard part, and that normally is in contact with a govt profile barrel.
Unless you plan to mount a M203, and just use the lower part of the M5, you'll be fine.

KACs fit some hbars. Depends on the diameter of the profile. They are all not the same.

My m5 fit a heavy profile dissy of mine. I had to mill off some of the gas block to get it to fit, but the barrel never came in contact with the rail.

The M5 will fit Colt Hbar barrels just fine with no modifications.

same here, but I have heard of some having issues other manufacturer HBAR barrels..

it will fit a Bushmaster heavy barrel also. It will not fit a "bull barrel"
