Hey all,
I have a new "H" carbine buffer and new full size buffer that I just ordered and received. Both of them rattle pretty good and you can feel the internal guts move around very loosly. Is this characteristic of a cheap product or is this normal? Both look like mil spec metal buffers with the gold anodized color and hard plastic pinned in cap. I remember having a solid black full-sized nylon buffer that did not look like it could come apart as part of a Colt 6731 rifle years back and it was solid, no rattle at all. A full size bushy buffer i had years ago didn't rattle either? So is there a difference in quality that one should look for? Thanks - FarmGunM1 |

I have 4 ARs and none of them rattle......all of them have an ACE ARFX or ACE ARFX-Entry buttstock on them. I do get the "SPROOOIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG" sound when shooting.
I also have Spike's ST-T2 buffers in my 5.56 Carbines, a normal rifle buffer in my 24", and a standard CAR buffer in my dedicated .22 in order to maintain as much of the weight as possible. My collapsble buttstocks I've had over the last few years all had a rattle to them if I remember correctly. They felt less solid than I like, so I tried the ACE stocks and haven't looked back since. |
