| This may be a stupid question but I'am ignorant on this. I have tried doing a search but didnt get anywhere. Whats the difference between mid lenght upper, carbine and M4 upper reciever group. |

mid-length refers to the length of the gas system. i want to say it is 2" longer than you carbine system. the recoil felt will be a little less sharp and the word on the street is that it is less wear and tear on the internal parts.
m-4 means the contour of the barrel. a true m-4 is 14.5" long with a notch in front of the front sight base. these are also available in a 16", (which is what i got). the notch is for mounting the m-203 grenade launcher or the masterkey shotgun. carbine, i'm not too sure about. maybe it is like the car-15 of ye olden tymes?

The carbine is basically an M4 but it does not have the N4 feed ramps cut into it. The mid length has a slightly longer gas tube and system and can be more reliable. The middie may or may not have the M4 feed ramps cut into it............. Pretty sure this will not help you a lot but I am pretty much a 500 round through my M4gry noob. Mid length in the middle, carbine on the bottom. The middy's barrel is 16" (in this case, not a rule) just like the carbine's barrel is 16". But look at the front sight base where the gas port would be. It's 2" farther forward. There can also be 14.5" midlenths and carbines. The term mid length is defined by the length of the gas tube/system.
