Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: The DD Omega uses the delta ring so it's not going to work. I am assuming that the barrel will be installed on an upper at some point so is there a reason why there wouldent be a delta ring? It needs to be installed before the barrel nut. Ummm.. not so much |

Most that don't use the Delta Ring require the use of a proprietary barrel nut.
It may be best to send it off, have the flash hider removed, the rail of your choice installed, and then the flash hider repinned. I reccomend ADCO. Or get your SBR stamp and forget the drama. Your choice. -BDHershey |

It needs to be installed before the barrel nut. Negatory on that one! I just put a delta ring assembly together a few days ago. Purchase a "Delta Ring Kit" (Delta ring, weld spring, snap ring) and obtain/make a set of snap-ring pliers. Insert the weld spring into the delta ring, and slide the delta ring and weld spring over the barrel nut from the rear of the barrel. Using the snap ring pliers, maneuver the snap ring over the barrel nut from the rear, and place it into the groove in the rear of the barrel nut. This will retain the delta ring and weld spring. |

Didn't know I could do that. Thanks for the info. |

What about this DD rail from Bravo, does it require me to remove anything? DD Rail on Bravos website Yes, that is a ONE piece rail. Your choices are pretty much what I stated in my first reply. The Troy MRF rail is a good rail. http://www.troyind.com/MRFRails.html |

Troy products are great and they back it up with great customer service. I have lost the detent that locks the bottom rail onto the top. I asked to buy a replacement as I lost it and they sent 4 to me for free. Then they asked if there was anything else they can help me with. Troy also replies to emails with in hours or the next business day if you email after hours. The rail locks up tight and is very durable.
Samson products are great, but follow up is weak. I am still 'waiting' on a barrel clamp for their AK K-rail they said they would make me from October of 2008. I specifically asked if it would fit my Saiga 308 before buying and they said no problem that they would make a barrel clamp for me. They haven't returned multiple emails or phone calls on the issue. So I finally gave up on them. I realized it is a pain in the ass to make a custom barrel clamp, but I didn't ask for one. Samson volunteered one and then flaked out. Also note this was pre-election 2008. So while their products are well made and simillar to Troy, I personally will choose Troy over them because I can get support afterward if I need it. I personally can't say the same for Samson. MI are good values for the money. It locks up nice and tight. The finish is also well done. But I personally prefer the Troy over the MI, although I do have a MI rail on my carbine. The Troy, Samson & MI that clamp onto the barrel nut are a bit bulkier than other rail systems. But they are excellent options if you don't want to or can't remove the gas block. |
