So this may be a dumb question but I searched and searched and got no hits. I currently have Bushmaster A3, so I have the 14.5" barrel with the welded flash hider. I have to come to find that the flash hider is welded on to make sure it reaches the 16" required inches (I assume). I want to remove the FH so I can install a new gas block, but I was told the FH must be replaced by something that is welded to achieve the full 16". The plot thickens because just recently I have finished my paperwork for a new AAC Ranger suppressor, which as you all prob already know is just the threaded type and requires no FH to QD with, so now I ask, will I be able to run the suppressor just threaded onto the barrel? Won't that just make the barrel 14.5", or would I have to weld the suppressor on? (I dont want to do that, even if it was possible...)

Sorry for the noob question, but I have looked all over and I think this is the only question I could never find the answer to....

You'll have to buy a 16" barrel unless you want to wait for a form 1 to go through for a SBR...
