Am I correct to assume that the Colt CAR-A3 has the large TCG pins?  Thanks.

No you're not.  For a while Colt used larger diameter hammer and trigger pins.  Lately they have been using standard size 0.154 holes.  It really depends on the age of the Colt you're looking at.  If it's current production, most likely it is the standard hole size.
