Yeah I know, use the search, and I did and found the guides, and bigger_hammer's colt list and all that stuff.

But I didnt find my question answered.

So does anyone know what roll mark this is?
Its a upper case 'A' but the top 30% is cut off and replaced with a raised triangle that otherwise follows the shape of the as very well.

Is that what I hear tell is a 'splintered A'?

THanks Y'all.

Yes, it's called the splintered A which is Anchor-Harvey forging, here is their site link which shows their marking logo.

One of my AR have that same forge marking, my Colt 6721, Anchor-Harvey supplies raw forgings to numerous AR manufacturers.

Gee, I just used the search engine, typed in "forge marks"–– and the one item that came up was a question, w/pics, of an Anchor Harvet upper.

Now if I could find an ID of an Anchor Harvey  upper in about 45 seconds, I hope you can understand me being a little dubious about your claim that you used it and couldn't find anything.

Huh, I was wondering what that mark meant on my upper too.   Cool.
