Much thinner, you will not be disappointed. I think the SCAR panels are vastly better then the original version.

How do the SCAR panels compare to the XTM panels?

Top to bottom: KAC, SCAR, original TD panel

Left: original TD, bottom: KAC, right: SCAR

Left to right: KAC, SCAR, original TD

Note that the SCAR panels are a little longer. The longest SCAR panel will stick out a little on a carbine length RAS.

I have a set of Magpul XTM panels as well, they're pretty thin. They can be a pain to remove sometimes.
