I'm looking for a lightweight 14.7' mid length with A2 hider, thought CMMG made one but no joy.  Anybody make such a thing?

CMMG is the only company that makes the 14.7" and as you found out only in the Carbine gas system.  maybe give them a call, they might have some stuff not advertised.  could always buy a 16" and send it off for re-profiling and shortened to 14.7".

AR15barrels.com used to do alot of threading/ contouring, but i don't know his status.  Adco is the best that's affordable.

i used a nationally known company  (not Adco) that is fairly local to me to chop a 20" barrel to 18" and thread it for a FH (no re-finishing or anything else)......$150.  so much for keeping it local.  on top of that they F'd up the crown and never cut a thread relief at the shoulder (crown has tool chatter and a ding).  I've seen way better work out of highschool shop classes.  lesson learned = go with the businesses that have a reputation for good work.....especially when it is fast and affordable.
