I am trying to install a geissel hi-speed match trigger and am encountering some problems.  The installation instructions say to install the trigger and check for any binding with the safety installed.  I have done this and have found that the first stage setting is smooth, I have even installed the trigger without the safety to check for smoothness with the same result. Once I install the hammer howver I am finding the first stage is rough and sticky.  Is there something I am doing wrong?

Did you adjust the sear engagement yet?  If you follow the instructions and still have problems, send an email through Geissele's website.  I did this yesterday with a question about the pins and Bill Geissele himself emailed me back later in the day.

I installed my Hi Speed Match yesterday and found similiar feel to what you mention.  I shoot with a gentleman who has two of these triggers and that will smooth out.  I am refering to a very slight feel.  I was not able to have a light trigger return and have the trigger reset... perhaps that will break in as well.

My Match breaks like a glas rod at about 2 1/2 pounds total force... going to improve the groups.

Compared to the other geissel triggers I have tried my one seems very rough.

I have gone thru the sear adjustment steps about 10 times now.

Swamp dwelling antelope.... did you lube it as per the instructions?

Yes, lubed in all areas as per the instructions.

The trigger is rubbing.  When you cock the hammer the trigger can move slightly to one side, that why its felt when the hammer is cocked or pressure is relieved.  Remove safety.  Any difference?  ck where the trigger bow goes thru the bottom of the receiver and at the rear of the trigger on the right side.  If you don't find it contact us through our website and ill help you out.

I had a similar deal going on with mine... I did speak with Bill (?) on the phone and he thought it was the trigger rubbing on the inside of the safety and told me to dremel the slot a little wider on the safety.

That didn't work so I took it to my gunsmith and just got it back today.   It is better but it still seems "grainy" through the 1st stage.   But then the 2nd stage cracks like a pane of glass at 2.85 pounds... perfect.   I'm betting that the first stage will smooth out with use.

If the first stage does not smooth out Ricos don't put up with it.  Send it back to me and let me look at it.  Ill turn it around in a day or so.

I think I have got my trigger resolved - Bill advised a lot of dry firing, if anything it's given my thumb a very good work out.  I'm hoping that the 2nd stage of my match hi-speed trigger cracks at under a pound.  I must admit the second stage is very crisp.

Has your first stage pull improved with use?  I took mine to the range today, thought I had it resolved but it is still sticky - very noticeable once you actually start firing live rounds.  I think I am going to send mine back for them to take a look at.
