The instructions recommend 5-10 foot pounds and not to exceed 10. Well lacking a torque wrench I put mine on finger tight then ever so slightly put a wrench to it, just enough that I can't loosen it with my hand. I think this will be just fine but my question is. What happens if it is over torqued? Is it an accuracy issue? Will it rain frogs and winged bears attack me on the way to the mailbox if it's 15 ft. lbs. Just wondering?

Excessive torque on a flash suppressor creates stress in the barrel right at the crown where it can affect accuracy.  The twisted slots on a Vortex create a self-tightening effect - it's uncritical how tight they are on, and lots of torque is not required.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I figured.
