Hello All,

I have been trying to get an AR style rifle these past few days however, I am 20 and they said you have to be 21 to get a collapsible stock? I am in texas and as far as I know this is not a state law, is it some national law I do not know about?

I also asked the guy if they could put a A2 fixed stock on them in that case but it is modifying the gun during sale and is illegal :(

That doesn't sound right specially in a no ban state like TX, maybe you could go to your Hometown TX forum and ask there if there is such a law.

+1 I would also say find another dealer, just in case that dealer is full of BS.

Oh my God.  I live in Texas, and I am an attorney that specializes in criminal law at the Federal level.  Go tell those stupid rednecks that they are in violation of Federal Law #6969BS4U that states "It is unlawful for obese individuals who have ultra-conservative values and have been out in the sun for greater than one year to discuss AR15 rifles with any individual under the age of 21."

Yep, bullshit.  Only place I know of that won't sell an AR to someone under 21 is Academy where they have their own fucked-up store policies.
