| I was looking for a 16" middy upper, and I was looking at CMMG and BCM. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the two? The CMMG is a couple bucks cheaper, once you pick up a BCG, charging handle, and handguards for the BCM, but I'm not worried about that. I was wondering if there was a quality difference between the two. I see both are MP inspected, though the BCM is HP tested as well. It seems a little easier to get a hold of a CMMG because I can just place an order and wait, which is fine, whereas the BCM, I have to happen to be around the internet when they come into stock for a few minutes. Any help would be appreciated. |
| Not to big of a deal but I like that it has the barrel markings on the bcm are in front of the front sight instead of under the handguards like the cmmg. I think overall the fit and finish of the bcm is slightly better. I had the cmmg that I had on a rra lower and I guess the tolerances stacked the wrong way. There rear pin was a bugger to get in and out. I figured it would wear and fit ok. Not so. I tried that upper on other lowers and that lower with other uppers and they were fine. Not sure what the problem was. There are some here that testify that cmmg barrel threads are not always concentric to the bore. Most folks would be happy with the cmmg though. I was until I got a bcm. Just like that rra lower. I was happy with it too until I got a LMT with 2 stage trigger and sopmod stock. |
