| I see alot of people asking for m4 feedramps on there uppers. what are the m4 feedramps. Do you need them. What are they for. Im building a 7inch pistol 223. Should I make sure I get them |

if you google “M4 feed ramps” or call around you’ll get all kinds of explanations on why the M4 Feed ramps came into existence, needed for full auto reliability, aids in feeding from Mags that aren’t in spec, etc, etc. I even had one guy tell me over the phone they were made because the original M4 had problems feeding the 27th round in sub freezing conditions, uh?
Just be careful you match your upper to the barrel extension you have, if you have M4 feed ramps in the barrel extension, you can use an upper with or without the M4 Feed ramp extensions. But if your barrel extension DOES NOT have M4 feed ramps, you CANNOT use and upper with M4 Feed Ramp extensions The pic marked “Good” on the top right shows barrel extension WITH and upper WITH M4 Feed ramps and extensions. The Pic marked “OK” shows barrel extension WITH and upper WITHOUT M4 Feed ramps and extensions The Pic marked “BAD” shows barrel extension WITHOUT and upper WITH M4 Feed ramps and extensions. DON’T USE THIS COMBONATION, IT WILL CAUSE FEEDING PROBLEMS. Most barrel mfg will tell you, you don’t need them for a semi-auto application, but then again we don’t need an AR15 either, yet we all still want one.
