So I decided this weekend to pick up a new lower and begin a precision build or SPR. I have had a Magpul PRS stock taking up shelf space and figured it was time to use it....a buddy recommended just purchasing a Larue Stealth Upper and be done with the effort but I've been also looking into piecing everything together myself. While priced well, the Larue Stealth Upper has no options for barrel stepping to allow the use of a OPS inc suppressor etc.
So, if you were building a new precision upper...what would you shoot for in parts? Present requirements are: 18 inch barrel Larue 13.2 Handguard Larue Stealth or Vltor MUR upper What says the hive mind? |

I'd be looking for a WOA match grade 18" barrel, a Young Mfg. National Match carrier, and whatever upper you can find.
LaRue won't have Stealth upper receivers for weeks, and you won't be able to get a Vltor MUR for a while either. I've been trying to find an upper receiver for a long time. |

| That's kind of what I'm seeing all around as far as locating parts etc. I could have swore I saw Stealth uppers in stock over at Larues sight this past weekend along with the 13.2 handguard. Worse case scenario I'd have to use a different suppressor rather then an OPS INC. |

Just call them or go into their industry forum, the time lines on 18/13.2 is something like 6 weeks right now, I think that is their most popular combo. |
