[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help identify this barrel

This barrel was installed on an A2 upper that came as an extra with a Colt AR that I bought. There are no identifying marks on the upper at all and the only marks I could find on the barrel are at the 12 o'clock position right in front of the chamber that look like either "S8M" or "W8S". The barrel is a heavy profile stainless 20"er. Any ideas on who made it?

No ideas? Is there any other way I might be able to find out who made it? As you can see the machining marks are a little rough but it seems to shoot prety well.

Probably a Rock River, Wylde chamber, 1:8 twist, Stainless barrel
