Was looking to pick up a few spare parts for my AR and was wondering like in the case of a AR-15 bolt do you guys buy a whole complete bolt assy or do you just buy the parts seperatly taht go into the bolt?

I am also wanting to know are the extractor buffer or extractor upgrade kits worth the money ? Thanks  MC

I have a complete unfired (except for test fired by the manufacturer) BCG.  I also have some extra gas rings, a couple of cam pins, some firing pin retainers and an extra firing pin.

The Bravo Company SOPMOD bolt upgrade kit will net you the gas rings, Crane O ring and buffer, a mil-spec extractor and a proper spring.  Also good spares to keep handy.  If you're not having problems, then don't upgrade the extractor parts until you need to.

I have two AR buils.

Both have a BCM BCG complete and an identical spare.

Each also has all of the spare parts to build a third bolt.

Yes, the BCM extractor upgrade is top shelf quality and will help to fire cheaper ammo.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to order a complete BCG and some other parts for the lower assembly. Ordered parts for my M-1 Garands so I have spares when and if needed. MC
