I am new to ARs so bare with me please.  I have a Colt HBAR II and an Alexander Arms 16" Tactical 6.5 Grendel on order.  The trigger on the Colt is pretty bad and I would like to replace it.  I am a bit confused about the Large pin Small pin thing.  How do I know what size pin I have?

I suppose I could take it out and measure it, but I'm not sure what pin they are referring to.

Thanks
Steve

The trigger and hammer pins are .170 diameter.

i think my "Mega" and "Aero" use smaller ones?
sorry i'm a bit confused on this one too. Its gotta be either a brand or time of production thing.

Colt started using large trigger & hammer pins (as well as receiver blocking devices) around the time of the '94 ban in an effort to show the world that M16 FCG parts, DIAS's or, LL's could not be installed in their products.  Earlier guns (SP-1, etc...) were small pin.

All the others mfgr's still use .155 pins.
