| I've tried searching but couldn't find anything. I want to add a FF handguard to my 16" carbine. I want one that extands past the gas block. Was just curious as to what handguard would I need to order for this, one for a 20" maybe? I know I need a low profile gas block. thanks for any input. |

I like the length on yours lindertw. I have the s&w m&p15 optics ready with no front sight, just has the gas block with the rail up top. I will be ordering a flip up for the front. Thats why I'm not sure if I just need to order FF hand guard for the 20" barrel, because I don't need the notch cut out for the front sight. Thanks for the input.

The railed gas block will not clear a FF rail like a low profile one will. You will either have to swap out the gas block for a lo pro or grind down your existing block to fit under a rail. You will want a 9" rail or longer to cover the block. 10" will hide it very good. Look at the following:
Daniel Defense Lite Rail Troy MRF-EX Larue Tactical rail Any of those in the 9.5" - 10" range should do the trick. The Troy and DD will give you a continuous top rail (not monolithic but continuous) the larue will have a space in between. |
