| Have an opportunity to buy a new DPMS Mark 12. I've read a few positive reviews about it, but those tend to be a bit biased toward the advertiser at times. Anyone have experience with this rifle? They are not cheap, but I am able to purchase it for regular money. This is from a dealer and it is new from DPMS. They guy has been waiting for it and holding it for me. My intended use is plinking and some bench rest and will use it as a primary coyote rifle . I had originally gone in to his shop for an $800 home defense'ish rifle and did not go that route as he mentioned that this rifle was on it's way to him. It's about double what I intended to spend but sounds like it is a nice gun that may fit the bill well as it is intended as a dual role rifle. Appreciate your two cents. |

While it looks nice on paper, I would not shell out that much for anything dpms.
you can build better for less, or just buy better for the same amount of cash. For your listed purposes, I would go with a company with better QC and CS. I tend to buy very nice barrels, bcg's, triggers, optics, ammo, and the rest is pretty much fluff. I don't buy $250 stripped uppers, just buy a regular $100 one. Save money where it is possible and splurge where it is important. JMHO |
