OK, what am I doing wrong?  I'm trying to install the Falcon Industries rail covers on my Larue 9.0 but they won't go on.  From what I understand, I'm supposed to "hook" one side of the cover onto the rail and press down to "hook" the other end of the cover to the other end of the rail.  But the other end of the cover  just keeps on compressing and won't hook onto the rail.   I'm frustrated and my knuckles are bloody.  Please help!

Try putting your thumbs in the middle of the cover and lifting up on the sides.  This should spread the cover so that it's wider than the rail.

Start on one end.  Once you get it hooked move down the length of the cover spreading as you go.

+1

Get one side hooked on teh rail and then start at one end pushing down in the center with your thumb and lifting the other side.  Once you get it started it goes very easy.  If they are really stiff you could heat them up with a hair dryer to make them a little more pliable but I have never seen any that were that rigid.

I used a small screwdriver, hook the one side then use the screwdriver to pry it on be careful not to scratch your rails though I did a little bit but nothing a little marker can't cover.

Look underneath to make sure catch bar is not hitting the rail.  They are made to fit between the gaps.

These rail covers say they're santoprene but they feel like hard plastic!  My fingers are all raw from trying to force them onto the rails.  I'll try the hairdryer trick.  Maybe 3 seconds in the microwave it all else fails!

I used the nail file blade on my little Swiss Army knife to help get mine on.  It worked great.  Up to that point I was working up a sweat trying to get them on.  One thing for sure, I don't have to worry about them coming off.

They changed the material.  IMO they are garbage now for this very reason.  Surefire ladders are the material Ergo used to be and they are cheaper than the older Ergo/Magpul ladders too.
