I am looking at building a super simple KISS patrol rifle, and the idea of a midlength A1 appeals to me greatly. Does anyone have this combo, and if so, are you happy with it? I have never had a midlength, but read great things about them....

Lightweight midlength from CMMG here. Very happy with it for our local rifle matches and the class I did.

I've got a lightweight 1/7 barrel on order from them for my wife's rifle.

PK has a Rock River Lt Wt. 16" midlength flattop. Add a Larue or YHM A-1 style rear sight ,and you should be gtg. Still gives you the option of adding a RD if you decide too later on down the road. Should be lighter than an A1 setup also.

I have an A2 mid-length with an A1 stock. I love it, great rifle. I bought the RRA 16" light weight middy upper from PK firearms. Took it apart and put the barrel on an A2 upper. Still new but 720 rounds now and it hasn't missed a beat.

+1     I've got that same upper with an A1 receiver.  I give it a big thumbs up!

I don't have this rifle anymore, but when I did, it never had a single problem with it.
