Most likely I will be bying a middy upper from delton. I am thinking about getting it with a yhm free float light rail. I have heard some complaints about them, but I see alot of them being used on this site. I would love to hear from some owners and see what they think. This will be a spare carbine. My main carbine is a cmmg m4 14.5 with phantum. This new middy will be used for range, hunting, and a back up HD carbine.
For the price $90 it seems like it would be worth a try. As alwayse thanks yall

I've got several of the carbine length free float tubes.  They have worked fine for me.  I try not to spend more money on something than I have to, and try not to change things on an AR until I see a reason.  I haven't seen a reason to spend more than my YHM rails cost.

As soon as I can scrape some change together for one I plan on buying one.  Cardinal Armory has them in stock.  I went by and looked at them at their shop and they look good.

I have abused mine pretty good, but they hold up.

I think most of the complaint where do to the non locking early versions, but I could be wrong.

I have a lightweight on my 18"-only complaint I have is that it's a little fatter than I would like.

I have a free float specter rail and I haven't had any problems with it.

I have used them on at least two guns that I can remember and my friend has also used a few

No problems to report and for the price they are hard to beat.

I got one and never had any problems with it.  But then again, I've never done anything more extreme than take a 3 day carbine course from Chuck Taylor's ASAA school.

AR done up in KG gunkote.

I got a YHM carbine length 1 piece free float.  Havent had it long or used it much since ive had it.  Looks good to me.  I think that it does weigh a couple of onces more than some of the daniel defense quad rails.  all my buddies that take a look at it seem to always point out to me that it is not t-marked.  but i dont care much about that cause once i mount something it stays.          dont think you will be disapointed

Pics coming tomorrow hopefully to show off my new YHM rail.

I've had a YHM Midlength before but traded it for a rifle length, can't wait to get it.

I have one on my first RRA AR that I bought several years ago. It's not a Daniel Defense or a LaRue, but it's a lot less expensive. I have not had any issues with it rotating or anything not being able to be firmly secured to it.

That said, that rifle gets the least use in the safe as far as AR's go - so it's not seen any classes (the only "hard use" I'm likely to see.)

It is what it is - an inexpensive rail.

I got one on my RRA Midlength, no problems, as far as being T marked, I just got it duracoated so I doubt it would have mattered anyway plus I leave my accessories on all the time anyway

I've got several on my work guns.  Some have been put through hell and no problems.
Great product and great price.

I used them on a couple of rifles before going to Troy and DD...the price is right and I never experience any rotation of the tube...but started to abuse my rifles more after switching so I can't speak to the longevity of them.

My 8 y/o Son picked out the YHM Spectre length for his and he also wanted the end cap, which I think makes it look way cool!
No problems with so far and he has put about 500 rds through it.

they are good rails. and you can't beat the price. the new ones don't require locktite as they have a set of 2 anti-rotation screws to hold the rail. in place.

I use them on almost all of my builds. for the price its hard to beat... unless you want to drink cool-aid and stick DD or KAC on a Pony gun..... and yes I have that too...

Put one on a budies rifle last night.

I don't like only using thread locker for holding the optional end cap but it is only a cap.

Went together without a problem, I wish these guys would give you a stamped steel spanner type wrench with the kit.....

Its not a Larue but I think its a good handguard for the money...

This pic was before we installed the Miculek muzzle brake. The recoil was next to nil, but he didn't like the compression blast out the back side. It also wasn't very pleasant for anyone sitting next to him.

So we installed a YHM Phantom 52C.
The recoil doesn't bother him and he has great trigger control. He can tag the 300 meter metal diamond at our local range all day long. (Were you referring to him having his finger on the trigger in this pic or the fact that he doesn't have the tip of his finger on the trigger?) We do a lot of dry-fire practice.

I like mine a lot.  I actually got it with money from selling an RASII.(long story)  I did a little WECSOG modification to allow room for the regular carbine front sight, and presto- mid-length rail on a carbine gas.

As others have stated, its a little fatter that I like, and the rails might be a bit on the big side of 1913, but that hasn't really been an issue for me.  A good offset light mount and the "fattness" wont matter.  I used a Viking Tactics mount, then switched to a LaRue.  All is happy.

I have a YHM lightweight 4 rail FF on my carbine and I like it just fine. Their rails are one of the few exceptions where inexpensive doesn't = junk, IMO.

I got the carbine length on mine and I love the open design which lets my barrel cool faster. That's important to me since I use a suppressor.

I have YHM rails on two of my carbines, very solid with the anti-rotation screws, they are very good for the value. Check out Brighflasights in the industry forum, really good prices on YHM products and quick lead time.
