Are the Surefire M73 railed hanguards any good? I searched around a bit but didn't get a whole lot. I understand that these simply drop in but do they also secure with screws? I have Troy 7" drop in's now but was looking at the Surefires...

I have a set and they lock up tight and do not move.. I have had mine for about 3 yrs , if you go with the Surefire Rails make sure you use loctite on the screws .

I love, love my M73s. They lock up tighter than any non free-float rail on the market. Yes, use Loctite on the two retaining screws.

Just be aware that the top rail height on the surefires is a little lower than the rail height of your flat top receiver, just a little lower - not much.
