Hey,
I know Troy Industries makes an extra long rifle length FF forearm, the 13.5" MRF-RX. I've searched and couldn't find, but does anyone else make longer than gas system FF forearms for rifles? I was hoping for around a 15" model.

Here's a pic of the Troy one for ya....

I've got a 14" DD Lite Rail inbound today.  Rainier stocks them

I'm looking for an extra-long tube-type FF handguard (not a rail system). Can anyone suggest a source ?

Weird that one by DD isn't even listed on their website, but Rainer does have them in tock... The one by Troy is 1/2" shorter and $100 less though so I think I'll stick with that so far.

No one can think of one that like 15"-16"... maybe I should build one...

I plan to go with Larue. But that is because I prefer their attachment method, and 13.2" should be enough for the VFG, light and bipod.

Call or e-mail them.  Their website info is poor, but I was told by the owner, John Holliger, that they'll cut any length you want.

Yah, but with the Troy your 12 o'clock rail is continous, great for optices, that's the one thing keeping me from getting a Larue, that and sells tax in Texas.

Thats why you use the LaRue scope mounts, plus, it is not recommended you put an optic on the FF rail unless it is one piece with the upper (true continuous rail) like the LMT or the Vltor models.......The Freefloat tube WILL flex, even if a little and is not good for optics.

You could order the Larue parts from an out of state dealer like Dennys(Globaltactical) or MSTN, etc.

I've used DPMS tuber float tubes on a 26"WOA build and a 24" build. The tube is around 16" long. The funny plastic grip slides on so you can pitch it. They were about $65.00 a few years back.
