Any1 have experience with steel CH? Are they any good? I bent my alum CH while trying to clear a jamb and was thinking of trying a steel one.

If you bent the CH clearing a jam, you were doing it wrong.

What was the original failure?

The original problem was the bullet case was not sized properly and when I closed the bolt it got stuck in the chamber. I tryed pulling on the CH but it would not budge so I had to get a rubber mallet and tap on the CH to clear it.

As long as you pull straight back and apply equal pressure to both sides of the charging handle you shouldn't have an Issue.

usually you can find a good solid surface and while applying rearward pressure on the charging handle with the rifle in a verticle position smack the butt downward briskly and it should clear the stuck case.

I noticed quite a few people of late don't like to clear a stuck case in this manner.

These are military style rifles and can be treated as such.

And the steel handles are MORE likely to bend in such a situation than the aluminum. They're very thin along the shaft.

I still can't figure out how you bent the original. I've used a rubber mallet a time or two over the years and not had this happen.

I'd go buy Pri Gas Buster ch/handle. You won't need another one.
