I have been looking for a bipod for my midlength.
I think the swivel model L from harris would be good.
Anybody have a really good bipod they wish to share about.
And I already have a bipod adapter.

Thanks.

Harris is top notch IMO.

Yup... Harris is some good stuff.  MidwayUSA has a sale on them right now.  I bought a 9"-13" non-swivel Harris from them.  For my purposes it works great!

I have a couple of Harris Bipods. I would highly recommend the notched leg version. Much easier to adjust from prone.

Bobro gen 2 is the absolute BEST.

A Harris is junk next to it. but then again its 175 bucks
compared to 60.

I like the TangoDown for the kinds of shooting I do. Its unobtrusive, and it works. You never know it's on the gun until you need it, as it doesn't interfere with your vert grip, light, etc. It has cant and traverse built in, and I still haven't encountered any terrain uneven enough (even on nastily pitched rooftops) where it wouldn't work. If you plan on shooting on slippery surfaces like car hoods, I'd suggest hitting the feet with some Plasti-Dip or the like.

The TD also gives me the right height when running an AR and wearing armor and mags, so I'm not stuck adjusting crap when I should be shooting.

The Harris is fine for most folk, but I run my gun into cover a heckuva lot. The legs invariably get bent or I lose one of the feet. If you don't run your gun really hard, or drop an 11 lb rifle directly into the prone from standing, it just might be a good choice. It also makes the rifle prone to rollover, as my rifle demonstrated at a night shoot a year or so back. I bumped my rifle while getting up and DC'ing the sling to help another shooter out and sent my rifle falling 10-13 feet onto some scrap iron. Messrs Schmidt and Bender broke the fall, and although nothing was damaged... It still pissed me off. The center of gravity is pretty high with the Harris compared to the TD, which really matters when you're running a 2 lb (and $2000+) optic and an IR laser, a UNS/PVS-22, or (god forbid) a SIMRAD.

If you go with the Harris, LT's QD lever is the most solid, ARMS is the lowest profile (even though you can get some fore/aft play), and the KAC non-QD is probably the best deal. With that said, the ARMS is still my favorite. Lightning may strike me for saying so, as I won't use virtually anything else that company makes. PodClaws are a solid investment, if you don't mind punching a hole in the hood of your Jeep when you take a shot. Ask me how I know, and I'll tell you why I don't regret it one bit

The BoBro might be a damn good bipod, and I have shot with the first Gen and liked it... But the second gen has those Harris style external springs with still hang up on gear, and  I'm not a huge fan of the feet, It might be great for some, but it's not my speed. It is pretty lightweight, OTOH...

For a good review of all of those, MM's site (www.militarymorons.com) has a review on all of them IIRC. He's a straight shooter, and I'd echo hes recommendations even on gear I haven't personally used.

Oh yeah, one that was not touched on anywhere else was the GripPod. I like the GripPod... On a PKM, MK46/48, or a ParaSAW. That's where it should stay. Even then, I still prefer the TD on those platforms.

Define what kind of shooting you want to use a bipod for, and then pick the one that best fits your needs. I like the TD, but if the majority of your time will be spend shooting off the bench or off the hood of a truck, the Harris or BoBro might be the ticket for you.

BIPODS ARE A LOT LIKE PISTOL HOLSTERS. ONE CAN'T DO EVERYTHING WELL, AND YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH THEM FOR A WHILE TO DECIDE IF YOU LIKE THEM.

BIPODS I LIKE:

HARRIS BRM-S WITH POD-LOC AND LARUE MOUNT - GREAT FOR UNEVEN TERRAIN; MAYBE THE ONLY GOOD CHOICE FOR IT.

VLTOR MODPOD - HANDS DOWN THE LIGHTEST, UNOBTRUSIVE, BUT BEST ON LEVEL SURFACES.

TANGO DOWN ADVANCED - BEST TRAVERSE ABILITY OF THE BUNCH. SHOOTS BETTER GROUPS OFF A HARD SURFACE THAN MOST BIPODS, AND I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY.

GRIP-POD - GREAT FOR WHEN YOU NEED A VERTICAL GRIP, BUT MIGHT NEED A BIPOD, TOO, AND YOU DON'T WANT TO LOAD UP WITH BOTH.

GOOD SHOOTING,

WES

I have used some Harris bipods and they seem very loose.
Rifle tilts side to side very easily.I dont like the springs on the
side sometimes they can get snagged.the notched legs are ok but
The Bobro legs are infinatly adjustable, the side to side tension is adjustable.
Also it does not have any springs that are exposed and once the legs are down are locked solid until i want them to fold up.Rail mount is included and the fit, finish, and
machining is TOP quality. If you saw one in person esp. next to a harris you would see
what im talking about.

I have used both, and both have there places.  As for the tilting, get a pod-loc.  I would never refer to the Harris as "junk".

The Bobro has springs as well, and with both, if you are snagging them on something you're doing something horribly wrong.

If you want infinite adjustments get the smooth leg option, though I prefer the ease of use when it comes to the notched legs, not sure how much more adjusting one would require.

I have yet to notice any issue with the exposed springs, and considering the price, and what it is made of, the build quality is top notch.

The Bobro Gen2 is a evolution of the bi-pod design and one for the 21st century.  They both work great and do there jobs extremely well.  Also one costs 70 bucks, and one is 200.

But in the end, neither is junk, junk is a 30 dollar promag bi-pod.

Btw, try adding some grammar to your posts, makes it a bit easier to read.

Sorry about the bad grammar.
I have been told that before on here.

I'm a diesel tech at a ford dealer and my brain works
my hands but not to well on the keyboard

The bobro is not junk.I take that back.

The harris is probably the most used bipod made.

I am biased because i love my bobro so much.

Please tell us about the hole in the Jeep hood story.  It sounds interesting.

I have a Rock Sopmod bipod that I am pleased with.  It deploys very quickly and tilts/cants to allow for a slanted grade.  It is all metal, so it is a bit hefty.
