Has anyone tried the B-Square forend.  I have a gift card I need to use and this came up while I was looking around.  I would like some feedback if possible, not just a smart azz reply about using a brand name $300 and up hand guard.  Thanks

EDIT:  Thanks for the info, I think I will pass on the hanguards.  I know there are cheaper forends than $300, but it seems like most people think if it is not the most expensive piece it is not worth having.  That's the reason for the earlier comment.  I wanted to give the B-square product a fair chance.

What are you planning on using the rail for? If you plan on attaching accessories, want a rail that locks up tight, and is machined to more exact tolerances, then you are going to want to get the more expensive rails from DD, LaRue, etc...

If you are planning on a set for looks only, then get the BSquare. I've used BSquare mounts and don't mind them for some applications such as hunting or on my 22's. However, for the price of that rail I would have some serious doubts that it would fill duty-use requirements.

It all will come down to your end-uses. You could get a used Knight RAS for a bit more on the equipment exchange forums.

The description is limited. But from the description I would assume that its a two piece non-free float model. And that price is not far off the MI, YHM, Troy, or Surefire models. I have no experience with the B-Square front end. But for the price I would rather have one I know is spec, and has good feedback from a lot of users. I'd pass on it and get one of the others.

I do have experience with their scope mounts and rings. And while they work, they are not very high quality, and I was not really satisfied with them.

I agree.  You don't need to spend 300 for a non ff rail.  You can get the YHM for around 99, the MI for about 129, and the Troy for 149.  I would definately stick with a name brand thats proven.  If there rail is anything like their other mounts and rings, I will pass.
