Hello gentlemen, my first posting here. Iv'e been visiting for a while and this seems like the place to come for answers.hich
What's the story behind this? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I don't know the story but right now it doesn't look to me that you want to know it. I don't see many colt 1/9 except for a couple times. Is it a 6922? just guessing.

What "usual markings in the right places" are you referring to?

And re the barrel, it's obviously a commercial built piece, with the 1 in 9 twist. Is it 14.5 inches or 16 inches? And what markings are on the upper reciever?

Barrel sounds like a 6922, a small run of the 6920 done with a 1/9 instead of 1/7 twist barrel. I assume it's 16"?

Which markings are you referring to? Some of the older production Colt parts did not have the "T" markings, though all new production ones do.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Let me clarify a few things. By the usual markings I mean that upper receiver is marked C and is an ALCOA one. The m4 mark is there and C is marked on the bolt carrier ect. And yes, it's a 16" barrel.

It sounds like it might be the 6922. Is this an unusual model?
