So I finally had a free minute to yank off the A2 flash hider and installed the Phantom...I cranked that thing as hard as I could and the solid portion (w/o the cut out) is facing at the 3 o'clock position if looking down the barrel towards the receiver.

Is that normal? Ive heard that firing it will tighten it down some more?

What did you use: peel washer or new crush washer.

DON'T OVERCRANK IT if you are reusing an old crush washer

Crush washers are one time use items.  After using them once, it will be impossible to get the timing right without over torquing and possibly damaging your barrel.

Im using a new washer that came with the FH.

I used the DPMS AR tool, cranking it by hand...

I believe it is a crush washer..looks the same as the one that came on the A2 FH on the DPMS upper...
