I have what I was told was a Colt A2 upper, The upper had a Colt 20" Gov. Barrel on it.

It was sold a a Colt A2 Split A upper.

I have just been advised the Upper is made by another company. here is a pic, hard to see but there is a "split A" just forward of the site housing area.

So is this quality or ????

I am trying to sell it in the EE and dont want to mislead anyone.

I was asking $165.00 for it when I thought it was a Colt. But would $150.00 be a bit better or lower,
any advise would help.

I have an A2 upper receiver that came off a 6520 upper purchased new from a reputable dealer, Fidelis Firearms, that lacks the "C" that my other 6520 has; its only marking is the Anchor Harvey split A forge mark:

All other parts (bolt, carrier and barrel) have the appropriate Colt markings and the upper appeared to be brand new, with no apparent signs of modification (virgin appearing barrel nut, etc.) and, as I say, the dealer has a good rep. A previous query here brought no definitive answer, and I've pretty much decided that if I ever sell it I'll note where it came from but probably not attempt to ask a Colt premium.

For the present, though, it's not going anywhere as it has adjusted well to working with a Bushy M4 barrel:

Right.
For an A2  Colt mfg. upper, there should be a C somewhere on the A2 rear sight boss.

C....something.... more than just the raw forging code.

For about 10 years, I have owned a unique A2  upper with same Anchor-Harvey code. The barrel is a new, Colt 16" lt. weight with 1/9 twist. Factory Colt A2 carbine hand guards  as well.  Have learned it might have been assembled at Crane Defense for government use.  They were known to have access to Colt parts in their contracted work.
