I am confused with handguard terms.

I bought a CMMG upper and I wanted to put 2-piece quad rails on it.

I ordered these: 2 Piece Carbine Handguard

I went to swap out the old ones with the new ones and I now realize that they are 2" too short.  The stock ones on the upper were 8.5" and the ones I ordered above are 6.5"

My question is - Are these (2 Piece Rifle Length Handguard) the ones that I need?  Does rifle length mean 8.5"?

Thanks guys.

Did you buy a midlength gas system barrel?

Due to the location on the gas tube/FSB, you will need midlength 2 pc. handguards.

These are the middy version of what you purchased:
