[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Forearm offset rail?

I was looking at the midwest industries 2 piece rail, and this was an accessory. I've never used a rail before - what is the offset rail used for? Do I need one? Also, can anyone give experiences with the midwest industries 2 piece rail? Thanks!!

I take it the offset rail mounts in between the main rails 45°
I wouldn't worry about it unless you really can't find the happy spot with the main 4 rails.
