Everything has gone up in price from a few years back. What use to be a $100 lower is now $130+.

Are you set on a RRA?

Just curious as to why it's 'gotta' be a RRA?

They're good quality, so are a bunch of others.   I am patient and wait for sales.  I first visited this site 13 months ago (shoulda known better ) and have built five AR's from stripped lowers so far.   I haven't paid more than $105 for any of them.

Currently own Stag, Lauer(LMT) and Bushmaster.  Friends have built Stag and RRA w/ lowers I tracked down and they ordered.  Again, none over $105.

check out Essential Arms. Good in-spec forged stripped lowers for less than $80.

Yep, up to $89 per their catalog still not bad. Essential has been making lowers for a long time.

Damn!  you gotta Bushy for that price?!?!  not bad, all the Bushy's i've seen have always been overpriced.

it's hard to explain why we're stuck on RRA.  i know that if a lower is CNC machined from forged aluminum, there all gonna be the same, but the lower is the "soul" of the rifle.  most of the time, it's the only part that's marked (other than barrel spec's).  some of us just don't like it to say "mega" or have a picture of a deer or some other brand that makes everyonelse go "what's that?"

i know it's anal and i know there are plenty of equal quality lowers with different names (and animals on the side), but when you spend over a G making a your dream rifle, you want it to be EXACTLY what you want.

my rifle is no safe queen, it gets carried on duty everyday.  i made it EXACTLY the way i invisioned it and am happy i did.

my partner went with a "mega" lower.  he's got more money in his.  we both have Fulton uppers (his a Liberator mine and old style Phantom), he has a 2stage NM trigger group, i don't.   but when people look at our rifles they don't even realize they're built.  they figure i bought a RRA and he got a generic LOL

who knows, we both might end up trying to sell our rifles to the same misguided pilgrim, i know i'll have an easier time
