I need to get a upper for my build, what would you recommend for a good reliable accurate 16" range upper?  What should I do for my first build buy a complete upper or buy a stripped upper, barrel and accessories separately?

Thanks

What to look for in a stag upper?  Is it hard to change foregrip with a quad rail?

How about one of These.

I don't know anything about spikes products, are they quality?  I have read in different magazines and forums that STAG is a very good upper and very reliable.

RRA, my opin best for the $. If you want a free float tube for accuracy or rails, they'll build it. D.Def tubes are an opt and worth the $, but depends on what you want out of the rifle.

Go for a 1/7 lightweight chromelined flat top.

No Problem I was just adding another option to the Big list. Let me know if I can help you with anything. I would say LMT, CMT/Stag, RRA, Colt, CMMG, are ALL good choices. For the price I would go with the LMT.

Where should I look for uppers?  I've found some sites but haven't seen anything spectacular yet.

LMT's that I found don't have a handguard with them, is it hard to purchase a handguard and install?

LMT M4 upper   14.5 or 16inch
BRAVOCOMPANY WILL GIVE YOU A FREE HANDGUARD

LMTs handguards are for LE and Military only!

No, handguards are easy to install unless you have Nancy hands.
easy to purchase.

I hate LMT for BS like not selling a complete rifle to civilians, though they make a good product.

This sucks, I am a person who has to see everything and compare everything and see what people think is a clear winner.  With so many options for purchase and so many different configurations that I like its a nightmare deciding what to do.  I see why people have like 3+ builds.  I'm thinking already what to do for a second rifle and I'm not done with my first.

Funny, it's not on their website. And the BBS ad only says it NIB, and on a defender lower.
Sounds more like a new rifle assembled with LMT parts.
Then again, I don't see any complete rifles for sale on LMTs website, only upper and lower halves.

I bought this from Del Ton during the last Black Friday sale. It's a great unit, reliable and accurate.  The price is right too.

The people at Del ton are great to work with.

Can't wait for this years Black Friday sale

Delton uppers seem to be a good price if they are quality.  Anybody here have one?

Yes.  It's a good running upper.

Do a search.  Check their feedback.  There are a lot of Del Ton kool-aid drinkers around here.

I have tried the search option and it keeps saying no topic found.  And I have search through a few pages and haven't seen anything.  I'm curious about them.

How many rounds have you put through yours.

I'm a CMMG kool-aid drinker myself, but I may soon taste one of the Del-Ton kits.

Here's a link to the Del-Ton industry section of AR15.com.
