| I am planning on getting a new rifle while we are still able. I am thinking of ordering an upper from PK Firearms that is a Sabre Defence 16" Mid SS fluted with 10" Troy free float rails and low profile gas block. It is a 1:8 twist in 5.56. Does this sound like a good choice? |
| I'm fairly new to AR15's, but recently I bought a complete bushmaster. Well I had nothing but problems with it from the start. Long story short, I sold the bushy upper and bought a Sabre upper from pkfirearms. The new upper has functioned better than I could have imagined. The fit and finish are top notch, better than the original bushy upper that came on the rifle. Now I'm tempted to sell my bushy lower and get a matching sabre lower. Forgot to mention the upper I have is 16 inch, 1/7, M4 style. |

I got my Sabre Defence mid-length upper last November, basic SHTF upper to go on a Sabre lower I assembled. I have put 530 rounds (55-77gr) through it and it has not missed a beat - very accurate. I did opt for the Young chrome BC assembly easier to clean. Best upper I've had, you won't be sorry + the guys at PK are great. IMHO |

FYI: Uppers that do not have SABRE laser etched on the receiver are not FACTORY built Sabre uppers, from what I understand. I BELIEVE PKFirerams USES a Sabre barrel on their builds, but the upper is put together by them. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BASH PKFirerarms as they are a good outfit from what I hear, but this is what I learned when directing my buddy to purchase a Sabre upper. Talon, however, does carry FACTORY BUILT Sabre uppers, with the laser etched logo on the reciever, which, from what I'm told, only appear on FACTORY built uppers. My buddy, however, opted to go with a Talon built upper (using a Sabre barrel), as the factory upper was more than the Talon built upper. If I am wrong someone please correct me. ETA: OOOPS, just re-read your post and you're looking for an SS Sabre barrelled upper. I don't know if Sabre builds any in that configuration. |
| PK will build them on Saber uppers for $30 bucks more. I have 2 Saber middie's from them. One is on a CMT and the other is on a LAR upper. Both have been excellent. I really can't see the extra price for the Saber upper receiver. The ones we looked at last year at the fun show with the laser engraving didn't look that special. Even took a set of calipers to them and everything was the identical to the Stag we compaired it to. |
I'd say they can |
