| Does anyone know if a cut down mil spec taper pinned FSB will fit under a JP VTAC handguard? I know there are lo-pro gas blocks out there but they all use set screws and I just don't trust them. |
| I don't know why it wouldn't. From what I can tell, most low profile gas blocks still have the gas tube in the same location as the standard FSB. I have cut down quite a few FSB's to low profile and they fit underneath the KAC FF tube and Samson FF rails. You have to make sure you get as mcuh material off the sides and top as you can to make sure you aren't touching the inside of the rail though. I remove the FSB, place it in a vise and then get to work with a dremel tool. It doesn't take but about an hour or so to get it done plus you save a lot of cash and get the piece of mind that it isn't going to come loose. |
