| i've got an old 1/7 20" govt profile long taper 5.56 barrel... the mark between the FSB and FH is E MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 at first glance i thought that it was a messed up B for bushmaster, but upon close looking, it is clearly an E with the top and bottom legs being longer than the middle. there are no other proof marks, or manufacturers stamps around the nut or any other possible ID marks. Who makes this? thanks |

E MP = EMCO manufactured barrel. Currently out of business. They had a problem with a batch of them having bad chambers Here is the Army's Safety Message on the Barrels:

| that makes perfect sense because my great uncle, who like John Kerry served in Vietnam, says that this was a true M16 upper, and that the upper reciever from this setup was one of the first A2's based on the markings, so the idea that this would be matched with a conversion type barrel makes sense... this one shoots great, i just use it for a beater to shoot steel monarch ammo, i was just wondering who made it. thanks fellas! |
